Coastal Seniors is currently hiring for the following positions:
The driver will operate an eight passenger bus and transport seniors locally and on day trips from Mendonoma area to Santa Rosa, Fort Bragg and Ukiah. This position will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and will have daily interaction with the Client Services Coordinator.
Responsibilitieswill include, but are not limited to:
Picking up clients before senior lunches and dropping off clients after lunches and afternoon errands have been completed
Monitoring each bus rider and reporting to supervisor if there are any concerns
Completing daily online driver log following each shift
Contacting each rider prior to shift to confirm travel plans for the day
Coordinating daily local and out-of-town transportation calendar to ensure all riders are picked up and delivered on time
Monitoring and enforcing Coastal Seniors’ passenger conduct guidelines
Collecting and recording fares from riders and turning them in daily
Keeping daily maintenance inspection logs and ensuring scheduled bus maintenance is up to date. Coordination with Mendocino Transit Authority (MTA) shop for completion of all bus maintenance.
Assisting with meal service while transportation clients are eating lunch.
Delivering Food Bank bags and senior food boxes along route monthly as needed.
Contacting emergency personnel when needed for client in distress
Knowledge and Skills
Must possess a desire to help members of our community.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel, as well as use of the Internet.
Must have excellent verbal communication skills including proper telephone etiquette.
Must have strong problem-solving skills.
Must have ability to understand urgency, and to be flexible with ever-changing priorities and deadlines.
Must work well with others in a fast-paced, client service oriented environment and be responsive to co-workers and colleagues.
Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision and have the ability to take initiative.
Experience & Requirements
Must possess a current Class C driver license and clean driving record.
Must pass an initial drug test and random testing following hire. The testing includes marijuana.
Must completes training as specified by Coastal Seniors, MTA and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) guidelines.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Must be able to assist passengers on and off the bus.
Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Prior experience driving a similar type vehicle and/or client service experience is a plus.
This is a part-time position initially working 10+ hours every Friday plus working local weekday shifts when available. Hours will increase to up to 35 hours per week in early 2019. The salary range is $15-$17 per hour depending on experience.
